Luís is a 44-year-old pharmacist from Portugal who is currently managing his family community pharmacy.
He is a registered pharmacist since 2005 and is an active agent of change of practice within his country. He has created a Research and Development department in his community pharmacy which implemented several pharmacy services.
As a member of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society, he was part of the Community Pharmacy Section for 4 years and, from 2019 to 2025, he served as the President of the South and Autonomous Regions Branch and as a National Board member.
Luís has been involved in the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) since 2006, when he was part of the Annual Congress staff team. He served as the Project Coordinator and Chairperson of the Young Pharmacists’ Group (YPG) (2011-2012) and, from 2013 to 2021, he was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Community Pharmacy Section (CPS).
In 2017 Luís was awarded a FIP Fellowship and, in 2021, elected as FIP Professional Secretary, thus having a seat at the FIP Executive Committee.
Luís has received training on business and change management, political studies and human resources.
