Sarah is a Professor of Psychology as applied to Dentistry at the University of Sheffield and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. Her interests are in applying the theories, knowledge and methods from Health Psychology to help understand and improve oral health for all. She is also interested in system science as applied to oral health, and how complex interventions can be implemented in practice. She was recipient of the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Behavioral, Epidemiologic and Health Services Research in 2018 and since June 2021, is the Editor-in-Chief of Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology.
