Prof. David M. Williams
Professor Williams is Professor of Global Oral Health at Bart’s and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London and Academic Lead, Centre for Dental Public Health and Primary Care. Previously he was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences and Professor of Pathology at the University of Southampton between 2004-10 and then Vice Provost between 2010-11.
He is currently Co-chair of the FDI Vision 2030 Working Group, a Member of the Advocacy Task Team, a Member of the Oral Health Observatory Task Team and a Member of the Science Committee of the FDI World Dental Federation. He is Joint Chair of the Project Team that has developed the Standard Set of Adult Oral Health Outcome Measures. The Project Team comprised 23 international experts nod service users and the project was a joint initiative of the International Consortium for Health Outcome Measures and the FDI World Dental Federation.
Prof. George Tsakos
Prof George Tsakos graduated in Dentistry from the University of Athens, Greece, and completed an MSc and PhD at UCL. He currently works as a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UCL. Prof Tsakos also holds Honorary Consultant in Dental Public Health appointments with the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust and with Public Health England. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. He is currently Chair Elect of the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe, and Immediate Past President of the European Association of Dental Public Health (EADPH). He is also an International Association of Dental Research (IADR) Councillor representing the Behavioural Epidemiological and Health Services Research (BEHSR) group. He has also served as EADPH President.
Prof. Sarah Baker
Sarah is a Professor of Psychology as applied to Dentistry at the University of Sheffield and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. Her interests are in applying the theories, knowledge and methods from Health Psychology to help understand and improve oral health for all. She is also interested in system science as applied to oral health, and how complex interventions can be implemented in practice. She was recipient of the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award for Behavioral, Epidemiologic and Health Services Research in 2018 and since June 2021, is the Editor-in-Chief of Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology.
Dr. Tom Broomhead
Tom is a Research Associate in Social and Behavioral Sciences Applied to Dentistry at the University of Sheffield. His background is in social and spatial geography, and in 2017 he completed his doctoral studies on the effects of neighborhood environments on oral health. His range of experiences has influenced his research interests, which include quantitative and spatial analysis of oral health outcomes and inequalities, as well as the use of qualitative data and person-centered approaches.
Dr. Dany Daou
Dr. Daou graduated as Dental Surgeon from Saint Joseph University in 1999 and specialized in Dental public Health in 2011 from the Lebanese University (LU). He holds a Master degree in Public Health focused on health promotion and education from LU in 2014 and is performing a PhD thesis in public health at Paris Saclay University. As Faculty member at the faculty of Dental Medicine at LU since 2011 he teaches in both under and postgraduate programs where he is responsible for the modules of health education, project management and communication. He also coordinates numerous public health projects.
Dr. Daou is a senior consultant with NGO Management School since 2012. His experience includes planning, coordinating and implementing trainings at international and regional organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Save the Children (SCF), Business Development Center (BDC) of Jordan, YMCA, Red Cross, Capadev UK, Pestalozzi Children foundation Switzerland as well as numerous regional ministries.

Why is WHO coming up with its own oral health definition with one expert in the field. Does she/he outweigh all the professional and experts input FDI was putting into its definition appreciated also by many other medial specialists?

How do you see dental industry’s role in achieving better oral health globally?
I see very little on edentulism as a variable for path analysis. Why is that?
