This webinar is the second in a 3-part series. The expert panel of the FDI Global Periodontal Health Project (GPHP) will update you on the latest guidelines/recommendations in periodontology and take you through the essential steps for you and your patients to achieve and maintain optimal periodontal health.
Periodontal diseases as one of the major global epidemics and health burden markedly affect oral health and closely link to systemic health/general wellbeing, with enormous socio-economic impacts and healthcare costs. A huge challenge facing general dentists is how to successfully manage periodontitis patients for predictable treatment outcomes and long-term health maintenance.
This webinar is the second in a 3-part series. The expert panel of the FDI Global Periodontal Health Project (GPHP) will update you on the latest guidelines/recommendations in periodontology and take you through the essential steps for you and your patients to achieve and maintain optimal periodontal health.
The expert team will demonstrate the newly developed FDI Digital Disease Profile Assessment tool, in line with the 2018 Periodontal Classification and the recently released S3 Level Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for the treatment of Stage I–III periodontitis by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
This will be followed by the practical guidance on subgingival instrumentation and when to apply adjunctive therapies, and subsequently when and how a surgical intervention is required in the treatment of periodontitis patients.
Finally, you would appreciate and understand the critical roles that dentists and patients should play in the effective delivery of supportive periodontal therapy/care in daily practice.
The FDI Global Periodontal Health Project (GPHP) was launched in October 2015, aiming for reducing the burden of periodontal disease worldwide by raising awareness of its impact and engaging the public, oral health and other health professionals, educators and policymakers in promoting periodontal health and disease prevention.

I am an orthodontist and feel adults are more hard to manage than kids or teenagers in terms of oral hygiene maintenance during active fixed appliance therapy. Any suggestions to make adults more acceptable towards keeping their oral hygiene up to mark?

Respected doctor,since we get the info that saving the tooth is more important than go for the implant and according to de vactum principle saving the tooth is prime important. But if there is severe grossly decayed tooth, than did the surgery is still the option in hand .
