Dr. Gerhard Seeberger
Dr Gerhard K. Seeberger is president of FDI World Dental Federation and a private practitioner based in Cagliari, Italy. He is a past-speaker of the FDI General Assembly, former FDI councillor, and past-president of the FDI European Regional Organization. He is also the past-president of AIO (the Italian Dental Association). Dr Seeberger is a committee member for the Guidelines in Implant Dentistry and Periodontology of the Italian Ministry of Health, a member of the Italian Retirement Fund Section Private Practitioners, and a member of numerous scientific societies (implant dentistry, periodontology). He is an established speaker (with over 150 engagements), as well as an author, co-author and peer reviewer in Italian and international journals. He was awarded a doctor honoris causa in medicine from Yerevan State University in Armenia and is an honorary member of several national dental associations (Bulgarian Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Mexican Dental Association, Romanian Association of Private Practitioners).

Dr. Yuka Makino
Dr Yuka Makino is the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Officer for Oral Health at the WHO Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo.
Dr Makino is a dentist by training, with a PhD in preventive dentistry and a Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH).
Prof. Enrique Acosta Gio
Enrique Acosta Gío is Professor and Head of Infection Control at the National University of Mexico School of Dentistry. He collaborated in the drafting of the WHO’s Multi-Profession Curricular Guide on Patient Safety (2010). He has served on OSAP Foundation’s Board of Directors (1998-2008) and is recipient of the Dr. James A. Cottone (2004) and the Dr. James J. Crawford (2010) Awards.
Prof. Michael Glick
Michael Glick is Professor and Executive Director, Center for Integrative Global Oral Health, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Glick has authored more than 300 publications, including original research articles, editorials, and book chapters, and has written, edited and co-edited 10 textbooks.
Dr. Glick is past-President of the American Board of Oral Medicine, Dean and Professor Emeriti, School of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of the American Dental Association from 2005 to 2020.
Prof. Lijian Jin
Prof. Jin is a Professor of Periodontology and the Modern Dental Laboratory Professor in Clinical Dental Science at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (ad hominem) by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007. He is a FDI Councillor (2015-2021) and Chair of FDI Global Periodontal Health Project Task Team (2016-2021); Member of the Board of Directors of IADR (2018-2021); and Board Member of International Academy of Periodontology (2012-). He is the former Chair of FDI Science Committee, Immediate Past-President of IADR-Asia Pacific Region, former Chair of IADR-Task Group in Periodontal Disease – Global Oral Health Inequities: The Research Agenda (2009-2012), and Past-President of Asian Pacific Society of Periodontology. He has served on the editorial/advisory boards of J Clin Periodontol (2011-), J Periodontol (2006-), J Periodont Res (2007-) and J Dent Res (2010-2015). His main research projects in periodontal etiopathogenesis, novel care approaches and periodontal medicine have been funded by 10 competitive grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. His team has obtained multiple international prizes. Prof. Jin has delivered 220 invited/keynote lectures nationally/internationally, and published 231 journal papers/book chapters (h-index: 56, i10-index: 147, Google Scholar).

We are not declining treatment to those tested positive. We will simply defer treatment until they have recovered unless it is an emergency. Therefore there is no discrimination issue here. It is for their good as well as for the good of others.
